Please Know where your sprinkler shut off is in case of emergency.
All sprinkler systems are required by law to have a backflow prevention device. This device most of the time has a shut off on it that will completely turn off the sprinkler system without affecting the main water supply line to the house or building. Please ask the technician to help you locate this shut off if you don’t know where it is.
Is your system over 10 years old?
We will be happy to service your system but please understand the components are only designed to last 10-15 years in order to be cost effective. All the plastic and rubber components on the heads, control valves and piping are very brittle. Although we will be very careful while making adjustments or modifications we recommend replacement of any heads, valves or components not operating correctly. Although they are not visible the rubber parts inside the control valves may be very deteriorated and could cause failure at any time. Many times wiring connections were not properly waterproofed at the time of installation which may cause excessive corrosion within the wiring of the system. Please be aware systems over ten years old may need semi-annual repairs regularly.
Do you know how to adjust your sprinkler heads and set the controller?
If you don’t know how to adjust your sprinkler heads or set the controller please ask our technician to show you how. Nozzle spray patterns can actually change from day to day as water pressure, wind patterns and plant height changes. We also recommend monthly changes to the controller programming as rain patterns and temperatures change throughout the year. We will be able to recommend run times and even set your controller for you at the time we repair or evaluate your system. Please understand that due to the number of outside influences we do not provide warranty coverage for adjusting sprinkler heads or programming and setting controllers.
